The European Parliament has approved a package of reforms aimed at 'strengthening farmers’ position in the food supply chain,' including introducing stricter rules on plant-based meat alternative labelling across the EU.

Figures released by charity Foodrise have revealed that beef and lamb received an estimated 580 times more common agricultural policy subsidies from the European Union than legumes in 2020.
