The fourth edition of FoodBev Media’s World Plant-Based Innovation Awards will celebrate its winners at our special event in September!
Our awards are a celebration of innovation and excellence across the plant-based food and beverage industry.
They serve to recognise the creativity and success of companies within the plant-based sector who have achieved successful milestones within the last year, whether that be by developing unique and game-changing alternative meat products or by introducing sustainability initiatives that have the power to create meaningful change within the industry and beyond.
This year’s winners will be announced during a special ceremony taking place at the Javits Center in New York on Thursday 7 September 2023, during the Plant Based World Expo North America.
Entrants, from start-ups to renowned global businesses, will have the opportunity to be crowned winner in a range of categories, from ‘best plant-based dairy product’ to ‘best marketing campaign’. Of the 20 overall categories, spanning areas such as product innovation, packaging and sustainability, we have introduced several new additions this year.
With the rising use of precision fermentation and acceleration of other advanced technologies within the plant-based sector, our new ‘cell-based innovation’ and ‘technology innovation’ categories will celebrate companies making strides in these areas.
Meanwhile, the ‘ingredient innovation’ category will award businesses demonstrating innovation in the development of new plant-based ingredients – and the ‘foodservice initiative’ gives recognition to those operating in the foodservice sector, developing impactful solutions to meet unfulfilled needs within the market.

The judging panel for this year includes vegan expert Florence Dusseaux and FoodBev Media’s Melissa Bradshaw, editor of The Plant Base. The full list of judges will be confirmed next week.
